RE: "Mommy I need to go potty NOW!"

What we do for our young kids (and my wife), is I spared no expense ($10) and got the LuggableLoo from Cabela's here.
Then we just pull it out (kept close inside the door while travelling) and placed between the camper and TV when on the road. We have a privacy curtain for when camping not near a bathroom.
Just bag it up, tie it off and properly dispose. I do use the same black water sanitation packets to control odor.
I have a cassette toilet in the PUP for nighttime number 1's but I use this same luggable loo and a cheap Walmart shower tent for everything else.
I do wish I got the Shower tent at Cabelas though. The 4 1/2 ft x 4 1/2 ft is nice and cozy...

RE: Need help with cassette toilet

http://www.popupexplorer.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=58788
The link above is talking about the samething. The fuse kept blowing.
"Found out that the Thetford C2 has a fuse holder. Pulled out the fuse, it appeared to be burned. I confirmed with the continuity tester on my multimeter. I hope that this resolves the problem. Only problem, whenever you burn a fuse, it's usually a sign of a bigger problem. Hopefully this was just a surge or something and it will work from now on."

RE: Need help with cassette toilet

I heard that there is a fuse in the toilet for the pump that pushes the fresh water. Do you have access to the inside of the toilet?

RE: after 2 seasons...bye bye PUP.....

I'd love to have one if I had a stronger tow vehicle and a storage place.
Congrats!

RE: Water Filters

I was at a campground a few weekends ago and filled up my clear jugs with the campground water to fill my tank and looked at the water and it was yellow.
The problem is when you fill with jugs, you don't have the option to filter it, unless you pull up and fill up and are able to attach a filter, you just have to deal with it. Or take a really long time with a britta jug.

RE: Gi-normous Ziploc Bags---Love them!

I use the Space bags for mine and I put 2 pillows in each large space bag and I lay on the bag and then close it. They stay compressed, sealed and fresh. I'll bring them in for winter and put a bounce in the bag for inside storage.

RE: PUP Security

I really like the barrel bolt idea, my grandson and I go camping alot and it has crossed my mind.
I couldn't imagine waking up to find my grandson had walked away.. what a gut wrencher, I think I might install one just to be sure.

RE: Someone slashed my PUP

One day, they will get theirs.... They always do.
Hopefully it will be a painful lesson with lots of screaming and begging...
but rest assured, they will get theirs... someday....

RE: Coleman (Fleetwood) vs. Jayco vs. Starcraft

No matter what dealer you go to, make sure you try out the setup and breakdown of each.
I looked and looked and kept going back to the Rockwood or the Fleetwood simply because of the fold down sink. I just couldn't get past the flip over sink, I know it's minor, but it was my little "thing".
Everything else seemed pretty much equal except the final decision for me... the WD hitch. Fleetwood supported WD hitches and Rockwood didn't. There were other things I could like without, but I really am happy with my Fleetwood.
It may not effect other people, but it might effect you, so be sure to try them all before you buy. There is a happy owner of every brand out there.

RE: Prices going up or staying the same?

I know you can goto Peco.com and see what they have in inventory, this is pretty much the best price on trailers, and a good reference point.

RE: Add WD hitch or not.

I recommend E-trailer.com, they had a great price, not always the lowest but they shipped fast and my first shipment had a defective part and they shipped the replacement quickly.
I have a reese mini 350 and I know it's not what you need but you need to decide if you want chain adjust, (which seems the easiest to use) or if you want to raise the tounge to install.
I know my next one will be the equalizer which has sway and WD, just like my mini 350.
Just my opinion...

RE: Camp Fires

i used 3/4 inch and 5/8 inch hose and i had them cut into 6 inch sizes. my DW and I where asking each other how it would look/work if we had say a 2ft pipe and hose inside the tepee when you like the fire we are going camping for a week June 14 and i am going to try it i will let everyone know how it works.
Oh man I think I'll try the 3/4" pipe it lasted quite a while but it sounds like the larger size would allow it to last longer.
I am going out June 10th and I'll try it too..

RE: Camp Fires

well just got back from our Memorial Day trip. i tried the copper pipe and hose idea and holy cow what colors and its a lot cheaper than the ones they sell at the stores. good tip.
I did it too and it was the oooh and ahhhh's that made me tell everyone I got the tip from here.
I wonder if a larger pipe and more hose would be better.. I used 1/2 inch pipe.

RE: Equalizer with Fleetwood trailers?

Love it. Took it out this weekend.
I have the 3.3 and it did very well. I rode mostly flat land but some hills and it did fine. The WD hitch works like it should and I felt very comfortable towing with it.
The Minivan had the back seats removed and coolers and camping stuff filled the back. My son and Grandson were with me and it worked well.
I don't obviously have the accelleration I would like to have but I am towing a Pup...
I have the prodigy brake controller and that also worked very well.
Looking forward to my June 10th trip!

RE: First Post-Hope its a good one

I will state for the record that all of them will get your family together and have a great timne camping.
Even though Fleetwood has sold their division, for many reasons I feel that a used Fleetwood/Colman should give years of enjoyment in your price range.
Welcome to the board!
